Product care

 

All products manufactured by or supplied are designed to give many years of reliable service provided they are maintained and cared for. These are our recommendations.

Acrylic baths or shower trays, plastic WC seats, plastic bath panels

DO’S – DONT’S

  • Clean immediately after use to stop a building up of dirt and scale.
  • Use warm soapy water, cream cleaner or multi-surface cleaner.
  • Fix dripping taps – this stops scale and limescale build up.
  • Occasional use of mild bathroom limescale removers is acceptable.
  • Use in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions, rinsing off well with plenty of water immediately after use.
  • Minor scratches and abrasions can be polished out with a mild polishing compound.
  • Never leave soap shampoo pools these can cause permanent stains.
  • Never let cigarettes/flames near acrylic can burn and melt.
  • Never use household or commercial cleaning chemicals – a range of products such as pain stripper, nail varnish remover, household bleach, perfume, aftershave or strong disinfectant can damage acrylic.
  • We cannot recommend use of any scouring products or cream cleaners other than Cif, which is recommended by the British Bathroom Council.
  • Acrylic is softer than China and can scratch.

Steel Baths

DO & DON’TS

  • Clean immediately after use to stop a build up of dirt and scale.
  • Use warm or soapy water and rinse immediately with plenty of water.
  • Never use any bathroom limescale remover/mousse or any acidic or alkali cleaner unless it has been specifically recommended in the manufacturers’instructions as suitable for cast iron baths.
  • Do not use bleach.

Vitreous China

DO & DON’TS

  • Clean immediately after use to stop a build up of dirt and scale.
  • Use warm or soapy water, cream or liquid cleaner.
  • Fix dripping taps – this stops stain and limescale build up.
  • Occasional use of mild bathroom limescale removers is acceptable. Use in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions, rinsing of well with plenty of water immediately after use.
  • Do not put bleach in the cistern – this can damage the internal fittings. It is acceptable to use in the toilet bowl itself.
  • Never use strong cleaners or bleach in overnight.
  • Never mix and different cleaners in the WC – they can react to give off poisonous gas.

Waterless

DO & DON’TS

  • Remove all debris, if present from the surface of the urinal.
  • Spray urinal surface lightly with a non-degreaser liquid cleaner.
  • Wipe surface with a soft cloth or non-abrasive sponge until clean.
  • Do not dump buckets of water into urinal with cartridge installed.
